These printables are an easy, no-prep way to help your students review and practice related facts and fact families in an engaging way. Put a new spin on color-by-numbers, glyphs, and mystery picture drawings and channel your students' love for doodling and drawing all while they practice multiplication and division fact families. These are also designed to provide practice of reading math directions carefully.
How Solve & Draw Printables Work
Students solve the multiplication and division related facts and fact problems and add to the drawing based on their answers. For fact family pages students are asked to identify the missing number given two choices. For multiplication and division fact pages, the first drawing prompt asks students to determine the product or quotient while the second drawing prompt asks students to determine if the equation is the inverse of a given equation.
Drawing is no-prep because it can be done with the student’s normal writing utensil (pen or pencil). You may choose to allow colored pencils, crayons, or markers but they are not required. This works well as a homework option for families who may not have those supplies to offer.
Drawing prompts require a student to use multiple skills:
3rd Grade Common Core Multiplication & Division within 100
Extension: Multiplication & Division within 144
Math vocabulary: Product, quotient, equation, inverse
Reading directions accurately
Optional challenge pages are included for fact families pages and fact pages. Challenge pages can be copied on the back of the worksheet – this gives students an extension opportunity by asking them to create a math equation that fits one of the incorrect drawing prompts or to create a math equation and their own drawing prompts. Perfect for early finishers or a fun homework opportunity.
