I just did this multiplication and division activity with my students over the course of two days and they loved it and I loved it. This product is a great way to teach multiplication and division word problems. Sometimes it is difficult for students to know when to multiply, divide, add, or subtract when presenting information in the form of a word problem. There are 2 parts to this activity: The first part is the Power Point presentation. Included in the product is a multiply or divide card. Each student will need a copy. As they read the word problem, they will hold up either their multiply or their divide card. You can choose to work out the problem, or just decide which operation to use. Then, students have task cards to complete. There are 24 task cards in which students will need to read the word problem and decide whether to multiply or divide. They will choose between a,b,c, and d. I have included 2 sets of task cards for this product. One set just has the number sentence for students to choose the answer, and the other set has the actual answer. You can intertwine the 2, or use them separately. An answer sheet has been included as well as 2 sheets to be used for workspace in case you choose to use the task cards for working out a problem. If you have any questions, please let me know. This is a great activity, and I hope you enjoy as much as I did! Thank you, Kathryn Willis.
