4th and 5th Grade word problem task cards and a worksheet. Ideal for Math Centers to review a range of multiplying and dividing skills in real-life contexts. Includes decimals, fractions, multiplying and dividing by single-digits and by 10 and 100 and multiples thereof. Many are multi-step; some also require addition and / or subtraction. Includes problems involving money (dollars) and measure (metric only). 56 word problems in total (48 cards, 8 on the worksheet). Could be used in some 6th Grade classes for review too.
Print on paper or card stock and laminate for repeated use. The task cards are self-checking, designed to be printed back to back with the answers if you would like to. Alternatively, you could print off separate individual answer cards. The question sides are on the odd numbered pages and the answer sides are on the even numbered pages. If printing back to back you can print the odd numbered pages, then put the card or paper back in the printer in the correct order and print the even numbered pages on the other side. If you choose not to print the answers on the back, and not to make up separate individual answer cards, there is also a one-page answer key featuring all answers.
These cards work well with students questioning each other, or used as part of competitive challenges where students time themselves or race to complete as many cards in a given time etc. However, if you wish students to record their answers more formally, I have also included a one-page Student Recording Sheet with spaces just for the answers, together with a three-page version with additional space for each question if you want students to include their working on it.
A double-sided worksheet featuring an additional 8 word problems is also included. It could be used in class or for homework reinforcement. An answer key for this is also included.
