In this activity, the students will need to evaluate 10 real-world problem using multiplication or division of fractions and mixed numbers. I encourage my students to use the "reduce-first" method and all answers will be in simplest form. In order to mask answers, all labels are left off of the answers.

Scavenger hunts are a great change of pace from the norms of a typical math class. It allows the students to get up and out of their seats, work collaboratively, and have fun trying to decode the days secret message. Each of my scavenger hunts come with an "Answer Decoder" sheet, Answer Key, and 10 real-world problems to cut out and put up around your classroom, hallways, or even outside if the weather and school permits. Scavengers hunts typically take up between 15 to 30 minutes of class time.
