Another creative approach to learning multiplication. No knowledge of multiplication necessary to do this lesson. Students only need to know how to draw lines and count.

This lesson is based on the area of a square or rectangle being equal to the product of its two sides. The student draws the sides of the rectangle/square to be the same unit length as the multiplication problem. Then they count up the number of little squares enclosed to get the answer.
There is a graph paper background which is identical to industry standard.

FYI- All of my creative multiplication lessons are bundled in one product called Multiplication Unplugged. That may work out cheaper than buying lessons separately.
