Common Core requires that students, by end of Grade 3, fluently multiply and divide within 100. This simple game aims to help get students there.
These Bottle Cap Races have students race to cover the circles on the mat with a bottle cap that has the correct multiplication or division problem on it. The game is perfect for differentiating instruction as you can have student working on different mats depending on their level. Throw in a timer and a partner to work with and you have a super easy center or fast finishers activity that is hands and keeps students focused. Students can take turns timing themselves to see how quickly they can get the mat correctly covered.
This pack includes Multiplication and Division mats for numbers 1-12. Both sets 2 different mats to give students more practice multiplying and dividing. The first mat has the and in the circle and the students would find the bottle cap with the problem the has that answer and cover that circle. The second mat has the problem in the circle and the students find the bottle cap with the answer on it an cover that circle. Also included is a recoding sheets for students to use when working in pairs.
All you need are the mats, some bottle caps and round labels to write the problems/ answers on. Included is a ready to print template for Avery 5410 labels which you can order on Amazon or you can use Aver color coding labels which are a $1 at target and you write out the problem.
