How I use this resource in my classroom:

Students glue the first page into the math notebook. I have them use two colored pencils to color the decimal. For example: 2 x 0.2, they would color 2 tenths with red and then 2 tenths with orange.

This allows students to visually see that decimals are part of a whole, conceptually understand what it means to multiply decimals, and reinforces that multiplication is actually repeated addition. Once students receive the foundation of multiplying decimals, then they can move to the standard algorithm
