"Mrs. Bennett, We Don't Get It" is a 5 minute, karaoke style video, that students can sing along with to help learn about the concept of multiplying a single digit by two or three digits.
It was inspired by a 3rd grade teacher at my school and her students who kept saying, "Mrs. Bennett, we don't get it!"
This video would make a good starter or review for a lesson on multiplication. The two examples used are, 461 × 2 and 366 × 4.
Also included in the file, is a PDF handout with a few activities and ideas to go along with the video.
The mp4 video and PDF file will download in a zipped folder.
Thanks to Mrs. Bennett and her class for the choreography and background singing.
The video integrates music, math, reading, and animation. You can use it as daily practice, part of a lesson, an example of multiplication, PE warmup, clean-up song, or just for fun.
The video can be played on an interactive whiteboard, computer monitor, iPod, iPad, etc.
The preview above is at a lower quality than the actual video due to size requirements.
Special note: Windows Media Player needs a free codec pack installed to play mp4 files. I highly recommend the free VLC media player.
