Want a fun way to formatively assess students in a differentiated way that will allow students to self-check and monitor their own progress?! Who doesn't? I want to introduce you to the color match.
Students practice multiplying binomials (24 questions on the assignment), and when they get an answer to the question, they color the question at the top of the page the same color as the correct answer at the bottom of the page. Students know if they are on the right track or not because the answers are at the bottom of the page. If they can't find their answer, they will ask you for help!
Students get tired of boring homework and in-class activities and love to mix it up with fun and creative ways to practice mathematics!
This activity is great for in-class practice and homework! Kids love to color (and studies have shown that coloring reduces stress!) and this is a great way to engage them in the classwork or homework you are assigning! These can even be posted in the classroom or hallway because students do such a great job and they usually turn out to be beautiful!
