In this activity students will practice multiplying binomials and recognizing special cases. The special cases that are covered include the square of a sum, the square of a difference, and the product of a sum and a difference. Students will take turns drawing binomials from a card stack and will have to multiply them together either using FOIL or their knowledge of special cases. This activity will not only give students practice multiplying binomials but it will also give them ample opportunity to recognize and identify the special cases. This activity can be turned into a competition to identify the most special cases. This product could be used as a way to practice multiplying binomials or as a review later on to remind student to be on the look out for the special cases that they often pass over.
