This activity can be use 2 ways, either as a race (first to finish all 20 wins) or as a game with points (points awarded by who gets the correct product first).
There are 20 problems assigned letters, these are made to be posted around the room. Each letter has a product in green, and an expression in black. Each team or partnership (or individual scholar) is given a letter to start on. They record their expression, and find the product; when they have their product they may then leave and find the letter that has their product in green. They will do the expression below their product to move again. Since it is a continuous loop it is easy to breakup scholars so there is one group at each of the 20 stations- they will know things have gone well when they end at the paper they started at. This also allows scholars to be spread out, and to remain relatively spread out throughout the game.
Your purchase comes with 20 cards to be posted around the room, a table for scholars to record their work on (one table with points, one table without), directions, and a key that outlines the expression, product, and flow of scholars from letter to letter.
Note: We used dots instead of an x for multiplication since scholars begin algebra this year. This document would be easy to edit if you prefer the x.
