Product Description
This activity uses the area model in order to multiply two fractions less than one. Students are asked to partition a whole twice- the overlapping area showing the numerator, with the total number of pieces showing the denominator. This visual helps show students what they are doing when they multiply 2 fractions- taking a piece of a piece.

There is an example, two practice problems, and a word problem. This would be great for classwork, homework, review, or a quick assessment!
