This resource focuses solely on multiplying monomials times binomials. The notes sheet that is included focuses SOLELY on the box method of multiplying polynomials, even those as low as monomials. If students get in the habit of using the box method for problems that aren't very advanced, they will already have the skills necessary for when these get difficult. The notes sheet is scaffolded in that it shows examples of monomial times binomial, binomial times binomial, and binomial times trinomial all beside each other in an easy to understand table that helps students see the progression from easy problems to more advanced.
The worksheet has 12 monomial times binomial problems with a 1x2 box already below each problem to help guide them through each one. This is one of those worksheets where I hadn't been able to find what I envisioned to help my students, so I just made my own. I hope you and your students find it helpful!!
PS, The thumbnail of the actual worksheet above in the pictures is slightly distorted
for some reason to make it appear that the middle column does not have a dividing line in the boxes below each problem. I assure you it is there on the real thing.
