This video lesson is aligned to Lesson 2.5 in the Grade 4 Go Math on Multiplying Using the Distributive Property. This video is 8 minutes 42 seconds in length. In this lesson, students break the greater factor apart to show two addends; multiply the addends of the greater factor by the lesser factor using a model to show the distributive property; and multiply using base-ten blocks to show the distributive property. The distributive property is the underlying concept for the multiplication of greater numbers. A model helps students visualize how the distributive property works.
