“Partner Up!” activities provide teachers with 20 pairs of equivalent mathematical expressions. Cards need to be cut out and distributed to students, who will then “Partner Up!” with the peer who shares the matching card. This "Partner Up!" activity focuses on multiplying and dividing integers.
- Have students arrange themselves in order from least to greatest.
- Have students create additional equivalent mathematical expressions.
- Post leftover cards on the whiteboard with a magnet. If students can't find a partner, they might find a matching card waiting for them on the whiteboard. (This is what I do when I have odd classroom sizes.) :)
- Use as a warm up to review a concept that was taught months prior.
