This packet contains worksheets to support students visually understanding how to complete fractions. After completing the problems using visual representation the students will then learn and practice how to complete the problems using math. The different steps of the problems are clearly outlined for students in steps provided and with visual structure for them to follow in completing the problems.
Distractions on the page were minimized. When pages have extra information students with disabilities can find it difficult to distinguish what is important information. Only information necessary for completing the work is on the sheets.
The format for the packet is example, watch, and do. "Watch" is the section where the skill is modeled and the student(s) can see how the problem is done step by step. If completing the worksheet in a one-on-one sheet I complete the problem on the page with the student observing. If I am teaching a small group I will complete the problem on a whiteboard and have the student write out the work as I complete it on the board.
