In my work as a reading teacher, I need to have a multitude of resources available for students of all capabilities and needs. I spent time looking for a solid collection of multisyllabic word cards to use in my classroom, but found either content-heavy lists for high school or primary words for younger grades. There wasn't much for students in middle school.
So, I made this resource for other teachers in my shoes!
This resource contains 20 pages (300 words!) of words with 3, 4, or 5 syllables. You can use these for decoding drills, a class word wall, fluency exercises, word games, concept sorts, content review, word work on roots and affixes, and more! I included some excellent all-purpose Tier 2 words alongside words from math, science, social studies, and ELA content areas.
Print one-sided if you want to just cut and go! The cards will not line up if you print double-sided.
I printed mine off on colorful cardstock and grouped by color; this way, students can remember if we worked with the "red" or "lavender" words. You can, of course, print them however you wish.
