These are simple flash cards for students needing practice in fluently breaking down and blending multisyllabic words. They are scaffolded so that some of the words are pre chunked for the students to help identified syllabic breaks in words. While others are not broken down to help the students increase fluency.
They could be used during small group instruction in a general education class, during independent work in order to provide for more differentiation or during a whole group lesson for our primary kiddos.
I have them laminated and on a binder ring in order to keep them organized and easy use for my students. I enjoy the scaffolded broken down words for the beginning of the year, I use them to teach different strategies that can be used for chunking and blending words. I then use the non-broken down words to increase fluency.
