Try something different in your speech therapy sessions this week! Help your students produce multisyllabic words and also address syllable segmentation. This hands-on resource is sure to become a crowd favorite!
Here is what is included:
Carrots and radishes: These contain pictures of three- and four-syllable words. Place them in your sensory bin with the leaves showing. After choosing a vegetable, the student says the word or counts the syllables, depending on your objective.
Money: (Optional) After the student chooses a veggie from the bin, they may sell them to you. Put the money in an envelope and have the student pull out a dollar bill after saying a word. The student with the most money in the end wins.
Vegetable stands: If your therapy objective is syllable segmentation or syllable counting, sort the veggie by three or four syllables and place them accordingly next to the appropriate veggie stand.
Word list: Can be stored with the veggies as a reference and/or sent home for extra practice.
Practice cards: Have the child touch each dot as he/she says each syllable. (This activity is separate from the vegetable activity.)
