The afterlife was an important part of Ancient Egyptian culture. One of the ways they prepared for the afterlife was to try and preserve the body as long as possible. They did this through a process called embalming. These embalmed bodies are called mummies.
This internet hunt gives your students background information as they read and answer questions about mummies. During the search they use a variety of strategies and skills that will prepare them to do research using the internet.
During the internet hunt the students are asked to answer such questions as:
What is a mummy?
What is a shroud and a sarcophagus?
What was resin used for?
This is a great way to increase your students' ability to use technology as part of their whole learning experience.
