Do you love to do small group math? I do too! I love for students to be actively engaged in an activity that keeps them learning. I created this monster activity to use while teaching my students how to order numbers. (Bonus: These can be used to compare numbers too!) This is an easy center or station to use during your small group rotations.
This set includes:
-8 different colored monsters
-4 cards per monster for each level
-3 levels of numbers for each monster (4 digit, 5 digit, and 6 digit)
-a recording sheet (not level specific)
This means a total of 32 cards to order for EACH level! So there are 96 cards to sort total!
Check preview to see how to use the cards to compare numbers!
Not much teacher prep needed; print, (I recommend cardstock so it lasts) laminate, and cut!
The students will have 8 different colored monsters to sort the matching colored cards into. (Pink cards get sorted with the pink monster etc.) If you are using the recording sheet, the students will write the colored card number under the monster that is labeled that color.
You can use this as a center, independent work, partner work, or even in your own small group to check for understanding!
