Are you a drama or theater teacher looking for a fun and unique play to do with your students? This improvisation was designed initially as a mystery dinner but lends itself well to an improvise-style play. Characters are assigned with history and motives but unlike a traditional play, there is no assigned dialogue. As the characters progress through the three acts, they learn more information and attempt to get information from others. It is up to each actor to embody their character and talk and act as they believe their character would. T
The Reunion is designed for 11 females and is set in the 1960s.
It is up to you, the teacher, to decide the guidelines under which they perform (ie are they allowed to lie about their information or must they always tell the truth when asked a direct question?).
The third act could be done either as improve where the actors learn during the performance if they are the killer or it could be used as a monologue for each student.
This exercise is meant to be a fun way to teach young actors how to act “on the fly” with little to no rehearsal. This format also allows for an audience to enjoy the proceedings.
This murder mystery is free of cursing, sex, drugs, and alcohol use. However, considering it is a murder mystery, there is mayhem and violence depicted in a humorous way.
