This student driven activity engages students in the exploration of the industrialization/urbanization of the United States during the turn of the twentieth century. Working in groups, students are compelled to use creativity, higher level critical thinking skills, inferencing and judgement skills to examine the cause and effect of industrialization and urbanization on American society. Students are then required to transfer their knowledge into a new medium, creating an exhibit and written analysis for the fictional Museum of United States Industrialization and Urbanization. Students conclude their experience with a gallery walk through the "Museum" as they sketch and summarize each exhibit. Created and classroom tested by Michael Howard.
