These composition projects are the result of several years of developing simple, concise activities that cover multiple music literacy objectives at once- while having fun, of course! I have been very pleased with the final result over the past couple of years. The students have fun creating and playing their own compositions, not even realizing that they just practiced some rudimentary music reading and writing skills that can sometimes feel very mundane. Even though the projects only take up one sheet of paper or even just half a sheet (Paper Saver!), the act of completing them involves multiple music skills, critical thinking skills, and cooperative learning. Paper, pencil, and a few basic instruments are all you will need to jump right in to these projects :)
The Kindergarten Composition Project included in this file is also available for free at my store, You Can Do This Music with Laura Lea.
