Teaching rhythm in music can be so much fun! This resource has tons of prepare and practice activities - get kids learning quarter rests through fun activities and simple songs!
This is an awesome resource for teachers who have been trained in the Kodaly method or those who want to use Kodaly in their classrooms.
The song files are fourteen of my favorite songs and chants to teach rhythm (quarter rests). I included visuals for lyrics, beat charts, rhythmic icon charts and much more! Practice reading, labeling the form, and writing the new rhythm. (songs listed above)
I included large flashcards for small group and whole group instruction, as well as "mini" flashcards (8 to a page!) to print for music on a cart or for times when we can't share materials between students.
Printable worksheets are included for assessing in the preparation phrase, as well as for reading and writing practice after presenting your new note. I included a separate set of flashcards for Music Memory (improvisation preparation game) for ease of printing (directions included!).
This resource is not a PowerPoint file. This is a ZIP file with multiple PDFs that can be printed or projected like a PowerPoint file. These files are printable!
