This file contains five highly successful music games for elementary students.
Students learn these games in the fall. Then, they can be used again throughout the year for sub plans, music lessons, emergency lesson plans, or time fillers.
Each song has enough information to make it virtually foolproof. It is a great resource for substitute teachers or teachers with little music experience. Music teachers will be pleased by the quality of the details and by the options for deriving musical concepts and skills from each song.
The five songs are: "Doggie, Doggie, Where's Your Bone?" "Skin and Bones (There Was an Old Woman)," "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," "Messenger," and "Scotland's Burning."
Each song includes lyrics, audio, notation, and directions for a game. The colorful slides may be projected during the lesson so students can view the text and listen to the audio. Or, print off the pages to make a book of sub plans or lesson plans. Yet another option is to provide the file on a USB drive for your substitute to view the file and use it with the students.
The songs are all in the public domain and come from folk sources (in keeping with the Kodaly tradition).
