Do you need a fun lesson to teach & practice improvisation? This lesson which feels more like a game will be a favorite for students & teachers. The simultaneous activities and rotation pattern that accompany this original chant put students at ease while learning to create their own music. Because multiple students are improvising at the same time, no one is "put on the spot."
I love this activity! I created it because it was hard to teach my students to improvise. Many students are afraid to even try. This activity gives the teacher a specific roadmap and it gives students a “game” to play.
Using this lesson, students are able to learn and try their skills in a non-threatening environment. Four people are always playing at once so they are never going solo.
