Create a Caterpillar Music Interval Recognition
Purpose: Learn to quickly recognize music intervals.
Preparation: Print on cardstock and cut out each piece.
How to Play:
In this fun music interval recognition activity kids learn how to identify a music interval upon sight.
The child begins with the caterpillar’s head, which is labeled with a music interval. The child then creates a caterpillar by finding game pieces that contain the correct interval.
Can be used at the child’s own pace, or you can add a timer to encourage speedy recognition. Can also be used as a group game where the players compete to create the longest caterpillars.
Perfect practice when the child is waiting for a lesson to begin or for her parent to pick her up. Can also be used by parents at home to help kids learn to quickly recognize music intervals.
