Sing the song for the students or use the recording.
Play the Game
Use the pages teaching Rhythm, Pitch, Notes on the staff.
If students are learning “la”, then ask them which pitch changes. Ask students what sounds the same and what sounds different?
You may need to sing or hum it a few times for them to notice one note is higher.
Now hum and ask students to show the pitch with solfa hand signs.
Use the Solfa Street to help students notice and practice the new note.
Tell students the name of the new pitch and show the hand sign using solfa street and/or the snowball notes.
Sing the part of the song that includes the new pitch with syllables “mi so la”
Have the students sing the song 1 more time with words.
Move to the writing or other activity to practice in a different medium.
Sing the Song and Play the Game
These lessons may be spread out over several class times.
