Description

Need a jump start to your March planning for your music room? This helpful product offers the following:

*March monthly planning template: Can be used for each grade level, to plan out the month

*My completed monthly plans I used for March 2016, for grades K-5: These will include song choices, picture books, dances, and more! Several links to resources, picture books, songs, and blog posts are included. This is intended to give you inspiration for your own plans! Note: Due to snow days and delays, there are a few activities on my March plans which were duplicated from February, since I didn't get to them.

*Lesson Plan Weekly Planning, updated for March 2017: This document helps you plan which lesson each class/ grade level is on for each week of March.

*Materials for March: One file from each grade level has been selected to be included in this set. These materials include games and activities not currently in my store. Some will be posted after March, and some will be exclusive to this set. Materials/games include:

--Kindergarten: Bee high/low signs (can be projected onto a SMART board or printed out; includes signs with just a high and low bee and no words, and signs with the words "high" and "low")

--1st grade: St. Patrick's Day rhythm chart, to practice ta and ti-ti

--2nd grade: Flip book and patterns for "do" (Students use flip-flap books to "write" the patterns on the sheet.)

--3rd grade: "Pease Porridge Hot" visual, for students to figure out how to play on barred instruments (to practice the lines of the treble clef staff)

--4th grade: "Recorder Rehearsal" Game for BAGE: includes four levels of play, which is great for differentiation, as if students play individually or with a partner on an iPad, they can choose their level of play!

--5th grade: "Let's go to the movies" for low sol (has students identifying a pattern with low sol aurally, then visually identify the same pattern on the staff. Could be used as an assessment!) The game comes in two versions--PowerPoint and Google Slides--so it can be used for distance learning.

--1st-5th grade: St. Patrick's Day rhythm flashcards (includes 8 flashcards for each rhythmic concept: ta and ti-ti, rest, tika-tika, half note, ti-tika, tika-ti, syncopa, tim-ka, tam-ti)

--A bonus St. Patrick's Day freebie from Amy Abbott to practice syncopa!

*Directions/ Suggestions for use

Download the preview for more information. Please note that you can use the materials in different grade levels, depending on where your students are in their curriculum. (For example, low sol is usually taught in third or fourth grade, but since my 5th graders didn't have me every single year, they are a bit behind. Use the materials as you see fit!)
