Save your precious planning time! This complete curriculum for the chorus classroom or general music features 90 lesson plans based on the new NC Essential Standards and the common core. Each daily plan is a sequentially built, 45 minute lesson designed to enhance performance skills while building the well rounded music student. This curriculum is strongly linked to the Content Literacy Curriculum, a pilot program utilizing unit construction and graphic organizers to bring continuity across the classrooms. I have organized this curriculum into units which work together to bring the student a strong foundation of vocal technique, music theory, harmony, sight reading skills, improvising skills, composition, and music history. Individual Units in order of presentation include Music Literacy, Music History, Performance Practice, Vocal Warm Ups, Hand Bells and Harmony, Composing with Music Technology, Key Signatures, Music Careers, and Introduction to the Guitar.
I like to think of these plans as the bones to my teaching presentation, saving me countless hours in preparation as my planning has become more proactive. This guide also includes a layout of the NC essential standards, song list, composer list students will study, and a Pacing Guide.
External Resources are not included in this package, and draw from YouTube, "Succesful Warmups" by Nacy Tefler, "The King's Singers-Rounds and Part Songs," "Everyday Warmups," and "Music Play 6 Curriculum."
Be on the look out for Power Points to accompany each Unit with stimulating visuals and media, which I will be creating next!
I hope you have enjoyed looking at this product! Thanks!
