This seating plan is a way for students to learn orchestra instruments and families, and provide classroom management for you as well! These instruments can be cut, laminated, and attached to the classroom ceiling. I like placing students in groups of four as well, and hanging a paper lantern to signify a color. Then, students are assigned an instrument to sit under. When calling students to grab assignments or instruments, line up, and more, you can now call instruments, families, or color groups. Also, with the seating grid, it is quick and easy to mark grading symbols next to each students’ name. Such a simple classroom management plan!
