These summer friends play dough and tracing mats are a fun way for young musicians to review music symbols in a hands-on way! Two sets of symbols are included: a set for students to use with play dough (use with whatever age you deem appropriate), and a set to use for tracing the musical symbols and practicing handwriting (use with the youngest students in preK, K, and 1).
Both sets are available with the colorful background, as well as an ink-friendlier version without the colorful background, for a total of 132 pages. See the thumbnails for examples.
This product does not contain a specific lesson plan; rather it is to be used within your own plans to teach or reinforce musical symbols and concepts. Use your imagination, and let your students use theirs, to help “shape” their minds with an artistic and hands-on approach to learning!
Print and laminate or insert into plastic page protectors (for play dough and for tracing with dry erase marker) and/or use on iPad for tracing (use an app such as GoodNotes, Notability, or your favorite whiteboard app).
