Review and reinforce music concepts in a fun and engaging way!
This deck of cards contains, Treble clef, bass Clef, repeat symbols, sixteenth through whole notes and rest. The deck looks similar to regular playing cards.
Each card contains a match. Have students play Go Fish, Memory, or other card games while they visual connect the symbols and notes without being in a stressed situation.
It is a requirement that the student say the terms on the cards to gain the cards in Go Fish or Match. They must say, "Do you have an eighth note?" If the other students have this they may give the student the card. If the student does not use the correct terminology the other students can deny they have the card.
With memory match, the student must state the name of the matches before collecting the match. If they do not state the names of the matches they cannot collect the cards. This allows the student to speak the term and see the symbol in an informal setting.
This set of manipulatives have been successful for me. My students go from non recognition to recognition in one class period! You will see your students begin to explain the differences to each other. This is a great way to encourage purposeful group talk.
This is deck one of the series. These cards contain the symbol and name. The card decks are progressive.Decks in the future will become more difficult.
