Music Reading: Colorful Melodies, a Growing Bundle for teaching music literacy

I am so excited to present this collection of “Colorful Melodies” for teaching and practicing staff notation. These songs are presented in color-coded notation so that students can easily transfer the staff notation to playing instruments, such as Boomwackers and Handbells. Additionally, these songs can be played on the tone ladders on Specdrums

.

While these songs are designed to be played on instruments, students can also use these for melodic reading practice WITHOUT instruments, singing the songs on solfége syllables or letter names.

What you can expect:

A total of 118 songs will be included in 1-3 varying keys, based on key signatures that are applicable and playable on instruments (please see individual tone sets listed below).

• Every day two songs will be added to the set

• There will be a projectable lyric slide show for the song.

• There will be a PDF that can be printed to display the colored song notation on the staff or it can be displayed on your projector.

• There will be phrase by phrase cards that students can easily track and are designed with the Specdrum use in mind, but not limited to that!

• The songs will be notated in one, two or three different keys, depending on the tone set of the song and the ability for the classroom instruments to perform the melody of the song.

• Song notation will also include tone ladders, either on the same page and/or on a separate page. IF the tone ladder is on the page there will be a set for both left and right handed students.

Please note that some colors will be adjusted on the phrase by phrase cards and on the tone ladders to meet the color needs of the Specdrums, if using them. Also note that if using Specdrums teachers or students will need to establish the desired pitches within the application on your iPad or device.
