2) "In MUSIC I can..."
3) "Music is Anchored in Standards"

Sailing Through the Staff {Bulletin Board Kit}Want to get your music room bulletin boards ready for the new year but can't decide what to create? This set contains directions and printables to set up a fun nautical-themed bulletin board in your music room to help teach or reinforce the lines and spaces of the Treble Clef.

-Lines and spaces boats and lifesavers in 2 different sizes with the option of boats or lifesavers for the spaces. I chose to use lifesavers to differentiate between the lines and spaces a little better, but you could use boats on all if you wanted.
- Directions for setting up your different bulletin board
- Lettering guide- I have counted out how many die cuts of each letter you will need for each board, so you don't have to count out the letters.
- Example picture of the finished boards in my room.

To complete these boards you will also need:
-Stapler and lots of staples!
- Double sided tape
- Blue tape, streamers, or paper for staff lines
- Bulletin board background (paper, fabric, etc)
- Bulletin board border(s)

Solfa Sea {Bulletin Board Kit}
This bulletin board set is a variation on my Solfa Street visuals and bulletin board set. When I decided to go with a nautical classroom theme this year, I decided instead of having Solfa Street to help teach solfege, I would have Solfa Sea.

On my board, I do not staple the boats or lifesavers down. I use a push pin so that I can change them out with each grade level. The kids are really good about reminding me so we don't give away our "secret solfege" to the younger grades. I have heard of other teachers using velcro or even putting Solfa Street over an empty place on the magnet board and adding magnets to the back of the houses, now boats. Do whatever will work best for you in your classroom with your kids.

I have included two different sizes on all of the cut outs in case you have a smaller board (like mine) or a larger board. I have also included options for both "sol" and "so".

Here's what included:
- Directions for putting the board together
- An example of my finished board
- Boats/life savers for: f,s,l,t,drmfsltd'r'm'
- Clouds that have the letters to spell out "Solfa Sea"
- Blank clouds for extra decor or in case you want to label it "Solfege Sea", "Music Sea", "Melody Sea" or something else.

Music Rules {Nautical Theme}
Want to get your kids singing from the first day of music while reinforcing classroom rules? This set contains a nautical version of my music classroom rules as well as slides of five original songs (one for each rule) set to a familiar folk tune.

I used these rules and songs in my classroom last year and having the rule connected to a song made learning them so much more joyful for me and the students!

The rules spell out MUSIC!

M- Make good choices
U- Use kind words
S- Show respect (in smaller letters it says "to classmates, teacher, and music" - I added the part about respecting the music and I can't wait talk about ways we respect the music with my kids - so important!)
I- Involve yourself
C- Care for room and instruments

Each rule poster has a slide to go with it with a song set to a folk tune. Folk tunes include "A Sailor Went to Sea", "Are You Sleeping/ Bother John", "Hot Cross Buns", "If You're Happy and You Know It", and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."
