So you're having your first student teacher in the music room?
You don't have to start from scratch!
I built this editable document after working as a cooperating teacher with several student teachers in my elementary music room. I felt the University paperwork was a little on the dry side, so I created this set of guidelines and expectations, so that my student teacher and I could get off on the right foot. Music teachers are asked to do so much as they service the entire school and a college senior needs to be aware of all the expectations they will have when they enter the 'real' world. I want to give my student teachers, experiences that will help them become a successful and well rounded music teacher once they get into their own classroom.
With that in mind, I created this document. It can be a starting place for you. This download includes an editable word document you can tailor to your specific needs with specific student teacher expectations, schedules and assignments including;
1. Participation expectations with performances & dates.
2. Creating lessons involving Orff instruments and other resources
3. Creating Bulletin Boards & Sub Plans
4. Teaching Theory, Movement, Recorders.
5. Teaching singing games and more....
I hope you can put this tool to good use and happy mentoring!
