This is a fun, interactive set of PowerPoints that you can use with your whole class to practice musical reading skills. Additionally, by putting the PPTs into SlideShark on an iPad, you can use it as a station in the music classroom or leave as a sub activity!
There are a total of twelve PowerPoints (six in stick notation and six in staff notation where G=do). Each game practices the same patterns, but with the patterns in different locations on the game board (gotta keep those kiddos on their toes!).
By clicking on the game board, it will take you to a slide in which the team reads the musical pattern. Simply click on the icon in the lower right hand corner, which takes you back to the game board. You are then given a choice of making that spot on the board an "X" or an "O". Your students will love it!!
Rhythms included in this file are:
"ta" or quarter note
"ti-ti" or barred eighth notes
"rest"or quarter rest
"ta-a" or half note
Melodic elements in this file are:
la-so-mi-re-do-la,-so, in stick notation
la-so-mi-re-do-la,-so, in staff notation in G-do
