Description

This set of 22 no-preparation worksheets provide fun and easy assessments for the rhythmic concept Ti Tom (eighth note / dotted quarter note).

Notation is included for the following songs needed for this file:
1. Bingo
2. Owlet
3. Shanghai Chicken
4. Shiloh


Worksheets Included:

-Bingo Detect the Errors Worksheet: Students will identify and circle rhythmic errors in the song. Then, students will write the rhythm correctly.

-Owlet Fill-in-the-Rhythm Level 1 Worksheet: Students will add in the rhythm of the song, Owlet. Some of the rhythm is provided to help students who need it (perfect for differentiation).

-Owlet Fill-in-the-Rhythm Level 2 Worksheet: Students will add in the rhythm of the song, Owlet. None of the rhythm is added, so students must figure out the entire song on their own (more difficult than level 1).

-Shanghai Chicen Cut and Paste Worksheet: Students will cut out 4-beat rhythm patterns and paste them in the correct order for the song, Shanghai Chicken.

-Shanghai Chicken Piece-Together-the-Rhythm Worksheet: Given several different 4-beat rhythm pattern choices, students will write the rhythm of the song in the correct order.

-Shanghai Chicken Fill-in-the-Rhythm Level 1 Worksheet: Students will add in the rhythm of the song, Shanghai Chicken. Some of the rhythm is provided to help students who need it (perfect for differentiation).

-Shanghai Chicken Fill-in-the-Rhythm Level 2 Worksheet: Students will add in the rhythm of the song, Shanghai Chicken. None of the rhythm is added, so students must figure out the entire song on their own (more difficult than level 1).

-Shiloh Fill-in-the-Form Worksheet: Given the rhythm of the first half of the song, students will label each line with the correct rhythmic form letter (a b a c).

-Prepare Which One Do You Hear? Worksheet: Students will listen to a pattern tapped by the teacher and circle the correct rhythm performed. Two dashes are used for the Ti Tom (short-long). Two worksheet options are provided: 1. Two answer choices are provided and 2. Three answer choices are provided.

-Ti Tom Composition Worksheet: Students will create their own 8-beat rhythm using Ta (quarter note), Ti-Ti (eighth notes), quarter rest, half note, sixteenth notes, Ti-Tika, Tika-Ti, Ti Ta Ti, Tom Ti, and Ti Tom.

-Ti Tom Dictation Level 1 Worksheet: Students must listen and write a pattern tapped by the teacher. Some of the rhythm is provided in this version.

-Ti Tom Dictation Level 2 Worksheet: Students must listen and write a pattern tapped by the teacher. No extra rhythms are provided in this version.

-Ti Tom Compose-to-a-Given-Form Worksheet: Students will compose a 16-beat rhythm to the form (a b a c). Students will use the rhythms Ta, Ti-Ti, quarter rest, half note, sixteenth notes, Ti-Tika, Tika-Ti, Ti Ta Ti, Tom Ti, and Ti Tom.

-Ti Tom Self-Assessment Smiley Face Worksheet: Students will assess their own ability to perform, identify, read, and write patterns with Ti Tom. Students will choose their level by coloring in the smiley face that best describes their ability.

-Ti Tom Self-Assessment Text Worksheet: Students will assess their own ability to perform, identify, read, and write patterns with Ti Tom. Students will choose their level by checking the box that best describes their ability. Text boxes say, "I Can!," "It's getting easier," and "I need help."

-Ti Tom 8-beat Song Match Worksheet: Students will draw a line from each pattern to the song title it matches. 8-beat rhythm patterns are used in this version.

-Ti Tom Trace and Say Worksheet: Students will trace over several rhythm patterns. Then they clap and say the patterns out loud.

-Ti Tom Trace and Write Worksheet: First, students will trace over several rhythm patterns. Then, they must write the same patterns without trace lines provided.

-Ti Tom Which One Do You Hear? Worksheet: Students will listen to a pattern tapped by the teacher and circle the correct rhythm performed. Two worksheet options are provided: 1. Two answer choices are provided and 2. Three answer choices are provided.

-Ti Tom 8-beat Which One Do You Hear? Worksheet: Students will listen to a pattern tapped by the teacher and circle the correct rhythm performed. Answer options are 8-beats long.
