Section 1. "Hook"
Students begin class by being shown a movie trailer of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. As they watch this clip, there is music in the background and students are asked to try and point out, and identify as many of the musical elements as they can.

Section 2. Information Over-load
Students then begin a process of first being introduced to one of the Seven Elements of Music. After students understand the element, then they are shown a movie trailer with no music and are instructed to think of how they would use that specific element if they were to compose the music for that movie trailer. This step process goes on for all Seven Elements of Music.

Some Movie Trailers Include; Star Wars The Force Awakens, Godzilla, Pirates of the Caribbean 4, and more.

Section 3. The Project
The students will choose a movie trailer, and a song of their choice that they would use for that trailer. (Song and Movie that is appropriate). Students will play the role as the Film Director choosing the music for his/her movie trailer. Students will then begin making their poster board that contains the Dynamics, Form, Rhythm, Texture, Harmony, Melody, and Tempo of the song they chose to use for their trailer.
