These materials were designed with this year's (2016) National Association for Music Education's Music in Our Schools Month logo in mind, easily lending itself to the tree theme.
The printable can be copied and distributed to students and teachers to fill out their favorite part about music class, music in general, or any reason why they like music. At my schools, we are taking the leaves and affixing them to a large paper tree in the hallway so that everyone can see the ways that their peers appreciate music.
This particular activity might be great for sub plans or centers, and can be used as a way to start a conversation with your class about why music is important to them, our society, and even other cultures.
The posters can be printed and used in the hallway around the tree, or in the music classroom. They might be helpful to be used as talking points or ideas when you are doing any MIOSMactivities.
I would love to see how other schools might use this, please share pictures of your trees with me on twitter (@MsJohnson_Music) or posting a picture below!
