Product Description
Students will use pie to understand fractions and musical rhythm. Many students are familiar with pie, which makes it a good connection for fractions. If students understand fractions, it is much easier to understand musical notes and counts. In this lesson, students will work toward connecting fractions with notes and counts, producing an basic understanding of musical notation. Students will create 4 “pie sheets” that connects slices of pie and the fraction representation with the correct musical note and count. Students will work in groups to complete 4 pie sheets (whole note, half note, quarter note, and eighth note). These pie sheets will be handed in for assessment purposes.
