This Musical Instrument Escape Room is a twist on the "Escape Room Mania" that has hit the teen (and adult) world in the last few years. Students work as teams to solve mystery codes based using their knowledge of musical instruments.

- Puzzle 4 - Logic Puzzle
Final Clue - combines the answers from the 4 puzzles for a final answer.
Instrument Information (Research Sheets) included to be sure students have all the information they need to solve all puzzles.

What ages is this geared for?
This activity is appropriate for upper elementary and middle school music, including band, choir and orchestra. This was specifically created for 5th graders who have a SUBSTANTIAL knowledge of musical instruments. We recommend using multiple resources from the "Meet the Instrument Bundle" and use this Escape Room as a final project for students in 4th-6th grade. Older students (6th/7th grade) can complete this without as much prior knowledge by using the Instrument Information (Research Sheets) to find answers. But younger students (4th-5th) may not have the research skills - this is why they need more prior knowledge.
How long will this activity take?
Assuming you follow the information in the paragraph above (regarding appropriate age levels/prior knowledge) this activity will take about 45 minutes. If you have larger groups (4-5) students, it may take less time. If students are in groups of 2, it may take slightly longer. You can also help speed the process along with hints as needed.
