This game is a variation of musical chairs and trivia. Students walk around the room to music and then answer questions at various stations regarding the instruments of the orchestra. Students will learn to associate a picture of an instrument with its family and name, and the sound of an instrument with its family and name. I suggest playing the game in stages, beginning with associating the picture of an instrument with its family. This game can be used for small or large groups.
This game requires one dice, six sticky notes, six location markers of some form (I used buckets, hence the title, but practically anything can be used), and some music and instrument sounds. I added a link to instrument sounds in the product. Any music can be used--it is just to let students know when to stop moving.
