Looking for a resource to help assess what your students hear in regards to the musical elements & concepts of dynamics (loud/soft), tempo (fast/slow), melody/pitch (high/low)? This set contains multiple versions of clip it cards (in color and in Black & White), 2 scoreboards (4 & 5 people team options), and six certificates. My students LOVE to compete against one another and this activity really helps them focus on recognizing the elements! This can be used as a center/workstation or with your whole class at one time. I've even included details on how I use this with the entire class at one time. This file contains two pdf files so you will need Adobe Acrobat to open them.
♫ Play a music or sound recording (not included) and have the students identify each element by attaching a clothes pin (not included) to the picture that represents it
♫ Clip -It Cards come in 2's (loud compared to soft, high compared to low, fast compared to slow)
♫ Clip -It Cards come in 6's (loud, soft, high, low, fast, slow) so you can have your older students listen for more than one element at a time (up to three)
♫ Two scoreboards
♫ Six certificates
♫ All cards, scoreboards, and certificates come in color AND Black & White
You will need to purchase spring style (a.k.a. pinch type) clothes pins (1-3 per student) to use this resource (though paper clips could also work, the clothes pins will be easier for younger students to grasp). I even found some adorable mini's at Wal-Mart! This file is in PDF form.
