This Wrap-around musical script for grades 4-6, called “A Riddle For Wonder” is about a little girl named Wonder, who has to answer a riddle given to her from the evil witch, Evilrule. Wonder calls upon the help of two great philosophers; Socrates and Plato. Everything the philosophers say are a direct quote of their’s. Adding to the fun, is another caracter named, Beat Nick. His name has several meanings so I have his character dressed as a beat nick and the narrators define him as to beat Nick or that he can hold a beat. The riddle is stated several times during the play so the audience has plenty of time to try and figure it out before the end of the play. Of course, there is a good witch, Goldie, who shows up from time to time to help out our heroes. Adding in the name of your town is a wonderful way to make this play your own. Songs of any style or genre will work and this script is a great way to dress up your musical performance. This play should take about 40 minutes to do and allows you to include as many students as you might need. The narrator’s parts can be increased or slimed down as needed. I hope you enjoy this Wrap-around script as much as my students and I did.
