30 Questions that ask students to compare and contrast three totalitarian dictators in the era between the two world wars: Mussolini, Stalin, and Hitler. See the preview file for example questions. There are 8 in the preview file but the full file has 30.
These questions are designed to help students address, and teachers access California World History Standard 10.7: Students analyze the rise of totalitarian governments after World War I and specifically standard 10.7.3: Analyze the rise, aggression, and human costs of totalitarian regimes (Fascist and Communist)in Germany, Italy, and the Soviet Union, noting especially their common and dissimilar traits.
The questions are good for teaching, assessment and to use as discussion starters. They should coordinate well with any history textbook that covers that first half of the twentieth century.
The questions are provided in both Word and CPS/Examview formats so that you have great flexibility in how you use them -- worksheets, electronic testing, paper-and-pencil testing, etc -- without having to type them in yourself. That work is already done.
