A Mute Session is a lesson teaching kids how to communicate without talking. During a Mute Session - usually a class period, lesson or activity - no one talks including the teacher. All "communication" is done via graphics - flow charts, pictures, symbols - and/or hand signals. A Mute Session is especially useful in classes where students are too "chatty", call-out or socialize with neighbors. A Mute Session, also, helps the teacher to minimize talk which many students have learned to tune out. A Mute Session follows the old proverb, "A picture is worth a 1000 words".
