Use this template for students to create their own 50 states book. Students highlight special facts associated with each state.
This file includes a 28 page document when printed front and back will create a book with one simple fold. No cutting necessary. Only 14 pages per student instead of 50 helps on those copy counts! Directions to print are included.
Each page includes the state name, an outline of the state, a place for the student to draw the state flag, and fill in the blank sections (abbreviation, year entered into union, capital, bird, flower, tree, nickname). There are also several blank lines on each page. This is a great place for students to record fun facts and/or more specific information requested from the teacher. Paragraph writing in the upper grades could also be practiced here.
Please note that there are several blank pages at the beginning and end of the book. This provides the teacher with some flexibility and options for differentiation. These blank pages can be used or not used. Title pages, glossaries, indexes, etc can be added. Students can write an introduction and/or conclusion. Students can add basic facts about the United States or draw a map. The possibilities are endless.
