This document includes a 30-page workbook and 9-page emergent reader mini-book all about the 5 food groups and how to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy foods. There is also an activity with matching writing sheet that could be used as a fun bulletin board display of healthy, balanced meals the kids created themselves.
The workbook gives kiddos the chance to color, identify, sort, trace, write, match, draw, cut, glue, and create! I tried to include every way possible for kids to get repeated exposure to the concept of what is healthy to eat and what is not.
The workbook can be comb bound into one large book or used as individual worksheets for health, literacy, centers, or morning work. The book features adorable line art from Scrappin Doodles and a wide variety of foods are represented. This book would also be useful in teaching ESOL students the names of different foods.
